Summer and Fall classes will be held in Charleston at the CADC Dog Training Facility: 918 17th St, next to the Rotary Pool, when the evenings warm up and dry out.

Dog Classes
Dog: Adv Puppy/ Adv Basic Obedience
Prerequisite: Puppy Kindergarten & Basic Obedience

Continues dog socialization and acceptance of grooming and handling; Continues and EXPANDS skills from puppy kindergarten and basic obedience (loose leash walking, stay, wait, etc.).

This class is good preparation for CGC.

FUN FOR DOGS AND OWNERS!

Please note:

  • On the first night, DO NOT bring your dog to the first Advanced Puppy Class.  
  • DO bring a copy of vaccination records, including Kennel Cough,  and must be retained by the Dog Club.  Puppies in Puppy Kindergarten need to have a minimum of 2 sets of shots before coming to class with the last of the series given no less than one week before the second week of class.
  • On the second week of Puppy & Basic classes, bring the dog, ID tags, small soft dog treats, collar, and nylon or leather leash.  No Chain or Retractable Leashes are Allowed.  Prong, chain, or electronic collars will NOT be used during classes.
  • For safety reasons, you must wear jeans and athletic/closed-toe shoes.
  • Handlers must be 16 or older.

Dog: Basic Pet Obedience
This class is for dogs 7 months and older with little previous training. Learn how to train your dog: Basic manners, housetraining, safety, beginning obedience, grooming, and socialization

Dog: Canine Good Citizen / Therapy
Prerequisite: Advanced Puppy/Advanced Basic Obedience or instructor permission

CGC is required for Therapy Dog training; This class is strongly recommended for ESA and Service Dogs

Help your dog ignore distractions and behave well in public; earn AKC Canine Good Citizen title.

Practice and certifying tests are included in the class.

Clicker Class
Owner Ages: 16 years and up; Dogs: 7 months and up
A positive, fun, effective, and simple way to train your dog. You and your dog will learn the basics of clicker training and the same skills in our puppy and advanced class
Limited to 6 dogs.
