Sidewalk Repair

Request a sidewalk repair?

A crew in Charleston Street Department takes care of the City sidewalk repairs. The crew does this work through our Sidewalk  Program.  This program helps property owners to replace sidewalks on City right-of-ways.

The OWNER will perform all work and buy all the needed supplies to prepare the sidewalk for the delivery of concrete. The city will provide the concrete. The OWNER shall call the Street Supervisor (345-5811) 24-hours prior to needing the concrete.  The city then orders the concrete for the OWNER to complete the sidewalk work.  The OWNER must do the final of the concrete after it has arrived. Thickness shall be at least four (4) inches six (6) inches through a driveway.  Width must match the minimum of four (4) feet.  Prior to pouring concrete, City staff should inspect the forms. The city shall pay 100% of the cost of the concrete needed to complete this work and only this work.

You can obtain Sidewalk Program Forms below or pick them up at City Hall, Mayor's Office, 520 Jackson Avenue, Charleston (217) 345-5650.

Please contact the Concrete Section of Public Works if tripping hazards are found.  Temporary repairs will be made with asphalt until a repair can be made.
